HISTORY
This opening bout is going to decide the Television Champion's next opponent for Sunday Night Rampage. It is an elimination match, which suits these competitors well because there are no allies, no friends, and no trust. In order to win this match, you have to stand out from the rest and show your merit as a potential Television Champion. Blake Witcroft is a fresh name to the PWA, but his exploits in the UK circuit have shown he is a considerable threat. The Sunshine Warrior makes another return to the ring, and PWA superstars Matt Stone and Simon Yip look to capitalize on broken opportunities in the past few weeks to get back on top of the PWA universe.

DING DING!

Eric Emerson:
"The following match is scheduled for one pinfall or submission and will determine the number one contender for the PWA Television Championship. Introducing first, from Toronto, Canada..."

"Pocket Full of Sunshine" hits the sound system as The Sunshine Warrior comes out from backstage to a rather average welcome.

Eric Emerson: "He stands 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 227 pounds..."

Sunshine Warrior slides into the ring and gets ready for his match.

Eric Emerson: "HE IS THE SUNSHINE WARRIOR!"

Jon McDaniel: “I've always liked that song."

Brian Rentfro: “You would."

I came to play!

Matt Stone's theme can be heard in the arena and the crowd begins to show their dissapproval for the longest reigning Grizzly Beer champion in PWA history.

I came to play
There's a price to pay
Time for you to get down on your knees and pray
I came to pay
Say goodbye to the good old days
They're never coming back
Watch your future fade
I came to play
I came to play to get my dues paid
I guess you had a dream
But it cant be safe
I came to play!

Stone comes out of the back followed by Katrina who just looks happy to be there. Stone has an arrogant smirk on his face as he holds up the Wrestler of the Year trophy. He walks up to the camera, remarking 'Now the ratings go up'. Stone brushes past the cameraman now and heads to the ring, followed by Katrina.

I'm here to stay
Best get out of my way
I have come to play

Eric Emerson: "Introducing, accompanied to the ring by his personal interviewer Katrina, he weighs in at one hundred-ninety pounds, from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. He is the Wrestler of the Year, Matt Stone!"

I go inside this light
I see new life unfold
Each second I burn brighter
Your fire is going cold
You could try to beg for mercy
Go ahead and try to run
No escape and no redemption
Understand the ends begun

Standing in the ring now, Stone looks out at the crowd and raises his hands in the air, holding the trophy just as high as he can. He hands the trophy to Katrina on the outside of the ring and hits the ropes a few times in preparation for his match.

Eric Emerson: "Introducing now, from San Francisco, California..."

The arena blacks out. The only light that is seen is that of the stage. The music hits.

-Yeah (Screaming)

A wall of smoke rises from the center of the stage that connects to the ramp.

-Yeah

Simon Walks out.

-All I ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled
-It is in my hands
-I must not fail
-and I must not fall

Simon holds the jade necklace around his neck. He closes his eyes in concentration. After a moment, he kisses the stone and walks down the ramp.

-Even through the darkest days
-This fire burns always
-This fire burns always

All of a sudden, he stops in the middle of the ramp. He starts hopping in a circle and rotating his neck to loosen up.

-This is the proving ground
-As the heat begins to rise
-Turn away from yesterday
-Tomorrow is in my eyes
-Oh!

Eric Emerson: "He stands 6 feet tall and weighs in tonight at 160 pounds... he is a former PWA Television Champion... SIMON YIP!"

He reaches the ring apron. To stretch a little more, he puts his right leg on the apron and leans forward to stretch his hamstring. He then alternates to his left.

-Nevermore to be held down
-By the weights against me
-Nevermore to be cast aside
-This day is mine

He slides into the ring and bows to the referee. If the opponent is already in the ring, he bows to him as well.

-Even through the darkest days
-This fire burns always
-This fire burns always

He finally then pops his knuckles and stretches out his fingers before the music ends. He is now ready for some action.

Eric Emerson: "And finally introducing, hailing from Darlington, England..."

The opening riff hits the P.A. System as Blake Witcroft step out from behind the curtain in his brilliantly tailored suit. With his arms out stretched he taunts the crowd flipping the bird to the audience closest to the stage.

I love the way that your heart breaks
with every injustice and deadly fate
Praying it all be new
and living like it all depends on you

Blake shakes his head as he walks down the ramp not allowing the fans to touch him pointing towards himself while saying words inaudible to the fans around him.

Eric Emerson: "Making his debut in the PWA, he stands 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 250 pounds..."

Here you are down on your knees again
trying to find air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
I love you please see and believe again

As he steps onto the matting around the ring at which point he looks around at the fans bends his elbows and nods his head vigorously before, walking up the steps and taking a few steps on the apron before turning quickly and thrusting his arms out to his side leaning against the ropes.

Eric Emerson: "He is... BLAKE.. WITCROFT!"

I love that you’re never satisfied
with face value wisdom and happy lies
you take what they say and go back and cry
you’re so close to me that you nearly died

Blake stepped through the middle and top rope and entering the ring and walking around in a large circle before taking off his sports coat and dress shirt and stretching out before his match as he waited for his opponent.

Here you are down on your knees again
trying to find air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
I love you please see and believe again

DING DING DING!

Jon McDaniel: “And we’re off and it looks like the returning Sunshine Warrior will be squaring off against the newcomer Blake Witcroft.”

Yip and Stone stand aside while Blake and Sunshine circle in the ring. The two test a lock up and then immediately break down into a scramble ending with Sunshine onto in Wristlock with Blake on a knee. Blake pumps out though and pushes Sunshine to the ropes. The referee moves to break it but Blake has ideas of his own and whips Sunshine off. The Sunshine Warrior sits up and gets smashed in the back with a Soccer kick that reverberates right down his spine.

Blake pulls the Warrior up to his feet and into the corner. Stone considers joining in but decides just to sit back and watch as Blake lands a few jabs about the ribs. The referee eventually moves in and pushes him off of the man in the corner and walks him away for a warning, giving Stone an opening to nail sunshine in the back. The Sunshine Warrior turns to catch him but Stone jumps off the apron into safety. The Sunshine Warrior then turns around and right into a knee lift from Blake.

Blake tags him with a second and then sends him to the ropes, but Sunshine holds on and pulls him into a toe kick and a DDT before turning him over into a pin.

And out as Blake throws up a shoulder. Sunshine pulls him to his feet and hits a few elbows before falling back into the ropes. Stone gets involved again with a punch to the back of the head but manages to get caught as sunshine comes around. Before he can hit him though Blake comes up from behind and catches him in the Full Nelson. Sunshine is still to strong though and Blake has little option but to quickly bring him down to the canvas with the Welsh Tickler.

Sunshine lands hard on his face and comes up dizzy, right into a big kick to the stomach and a Front-Facelock. Blake hooks up a leg and then emits a Wolf like howl, before haling his man up into the air, Fisherman style, and bringing him down, hard on the point of his skull with the Hooligan Buster.

Blake bridges for the pin but Stone sweeps his leg from the outside. He then drags him down to the floor and sends him hard into the rail. The referee announces the tag as Stone rushes into the ring, scoops up the Sunshine Warrior and blasts him with the Combo Breaker. Sunshine goes down again and Stone is straight on the cover.

Jon McDaniel: “And just like that, The Sunshine Warrior has been eliminated."

Brian Rentfro: “It wasn't JUST LIKE THAT.. it was more like.. and finally the Sunshine Warrior gets eliminated because he's so tough it takes forever and--"

Jon McDaniel: “Dude, shut up."

Blake returns just a second too late to steal back his pin but manages to catch Stones leg as he tries to get back to his feet. Witcroft then pulls him in for a Fisherman Buster of his own but Stone fights out with elbows in his ribs. He then hits Yip with a hard tag and ducks out of the ring, looking particularly pleased with himself as he does.

Blake looks surprised, and no more so than when Yip catches him with a Shotei and sends him into the buckles. Yip then opens up with a few Martial Arts kicks from either side as Blake tries to cover up. The blows get through though and Blake finds his legs coming out beneath him. Yip then pulls him out the ropes and softens him up with a hard Roundhouse to the ribs to put him to a knee.

Yip hits the ropes and comes back with a high Roundhouse but Blake suddenly leaps up and catches his leg under arm. Blake then steps forward and smashes Yip in the face with a Headbutt and then uses his captured leg to toss him head over heels and down to the mat.

Blake drags Yip up and into the Front Facelock, but once again Matt Stone picks his moment well and catches Blake with a hard forearm. This time he grabs Blake by the collar and sends him to the ropes and over, throwing him down hard into the floor.

Yip is staggered, blood weeping down his face and his knees barely holding together. Stone shows no remorse though and rushes him with a second Combo Breaker for the night. Blood explodes across Yip’s face on impact as Stone latches onto another cover.

Jon McDaniel: “And Matt Stone has eliminated another in the form of Simon Yip!"

Brian Rentfro: “That's because he's the Wrestler of the Year, Jon. Recognize."

Jon McDaniel: “He's definitely wrestling like one, at least."

Stone leaps up out of the cover and into the ropes, holding up two fingers and soaking up the jeers from the fans. Blake begins to surfaces on the outside, clutching his neck after a bad landing, but doesn’t get too far as Stone comes off the apron and blasts him with a double Axe-Handle smash. He then quickly tosses him through the ropes and slinks in to a cover.

But Witcroft arches a shoulder and fights on much to Matt’s dismay as he brings him as far as his knees and blasts his with a kick in the chest, followed by another and then a third as Blake crumples to his knees. Matt then lifts him up and sets him for one final kick about the skull.

Matt lets loose and whips a shot through the air as Blake ducks down. Stone then finds himself turned around and quickly pulled into a pin

Stone powers out of the School Boy attempt but rises fight up into a Front Facelock and a series of knees into the top of his head before Blake pulls them to their feet. He then sets up for another Hooligan buster but Stone spins out and drags him into a Short-arm Clothesline. Blake looks out of it as Stone drags him up and nails him with a kick. Stone then sizes him up and rushes, but Blake drops down and sweeps out his legs before he can make impact.

Stone leaps back to his feet but gets caught with a lightening quick series of jabs from Blake who looks to finish with a big hook. Stone ducks though and comes back with a shoulder tackle into the corner. He lands a couple more and backs up before running in on a dive. Blake skips out though leaving Stone to clatter hard into the buckles. Blake then catches him with a big right hand, rocking a few of his teeth and leaving him dead on his feet. Once again then he catches him for the Hooligan Buster, and this time Stone doesn’t escape.

Stone is crushed to the canvas and Blake holds on tight.

DING DING DING!!!

Eric Emerson: "And the winner of this match... BLAKE... WITCROFT!"

Brian Rentfro: “Oi! Oi! Oi!"

Jon McDaniel: “Blake makes an impressive debut and beats Matt Stone in the final leg of this fatal fourway match. However, Matt Stone had an impressive showing, eliminating Sunshine Warrior and Simon Yip early."

Brian Rentfro: “Oi! Oi! Oi!"

Jon McDaniel: “God. We get it, Brian. He's British! And funny enough, Simon Yip was the only American in this match, and he's Asian."

Brian Rentfro: “Watch those racial tones there, Jon."

Jon McDaniel: “What the hell are you talking about?"

Stone rolls out of the ring as Blake Witcroft celebrates his first victory in the PWA. Blake will be facing the winner of the next match...
