"Better
Then You" by Metallica plays as a montage of video footage from both PWA
and Rebel Pro play, showing the superstars from both shows in action.. the
montage goes for about forty seconds before the scene switches to Mark Sommers
standing in front of five huge 50 inch HD TV screens that are set with two above
the other three in a pyramid setting with the logo Crossroads hanging above the
top two TVs.
Chamelion:
Welcome everyone to Crossroads. It’s
that time again where each week we’ll go over the events in the AOWF community
over the last week. I’ll share news, rumors, recaps and reviews, as well as
superstar interviews and promos, before topping the night off with a Rebel Pro
vs. PWA match.
Chamelion:
And this week’s match should prove to be quite competitive.
PWA’s THLove will go one on with Rebel’s Chad Kurtis.
Some of you may recall that Chad actually spent a short stint here in the
PWA, so he will be on familiar ground when facing off with the former Hungry,
Hungry Hippo.
Chamelion:
With so much to share and a limited time, let’s get right to our first
segment, a review of last week’s Rebel Pro event, which was a spectacular and
bloody Barbed Wire Massacre.
Jenny Jersey: "Again we have another attack of a Kurtis brother before the
show, this time it was Jonothan Kurtis, possibly better known as J-Kurt. Only
time would tell if he was able to fight later that night. A "D" was
spraypainted on his chest, again one wonders if it is Duncan Aries or another on
the war path."
Jenny takes a sip of water from the glass beside her as we fade from the scene
of the attack.
Jenny Jersey: "Then in our first match we have "Young Money"
Jer$ey taking on his former tag team partner and current NAPW World Champion
Steve Parker in a Barbed Wire Challenge match. Very little barbed wire was used
in this match, but both men managed to feel the point during the match. It was
not as bloody as some would like it, but no fan was left unhappy with the match
until the very end when Steve Parker was able to pick up the win. It was a great
contest of wrestling skill and ended fittingly with a hand shake after the bell
sounded signifying the end of the match."
As the camera fades back to her, she smiles sweetly.
Jenny Jersey: "Then we have two former partners, again, fighting for
supremacy... again."
She laughs softly.
Jenny Jersey: "As Duncan Aries vowed revenge on Vincent Black for his
cowardly attacks. This match was a street fight that Vincent tried to start
early, but Duncan was ready with his lead pipe. They fought through the crowd
and thankfully no one was hurt in the maylay. A few fans got free merchandise as
they fought near those tables, a crutch was used, and is now on Ebay selling for
around three hundred dollars. With these two men fighting outside, they actually
went into the street briefly where both were nearly hit by an irate woman in a
blue Prias, at least I believe that is the make of the car. The match came when
Duncan forced Vincent to tap out to his submission finisher and exact some
revenge. Will either of these men wrestle at the upcoming Aggression, only time
will tell."
Fade back into Jenny as the scene changes to another match.
Jenny Jersey "Next we were priviledged enough to catch a backstage segment
with Dirty Money before their match where a lot was said, but the smell was way
too bad and Casino left the room. But seriously, these two men seem to have
called out the Cowgirls From Hell to a tag team match, will Mr. Joe Boxer accept
the challenge or will the Cowgirls From Hell?"
She chuckles a bit.
Jenny Jersey: "Following the segment, we were witness to Matthew Kurtis
vowing that he would take on Dirty Money by himself. The Bluegrass Badass gave
it a very valiant effort as he was able to hold off Casino and KKP with his
strength and height for the majority of the match. Matthew even went on the
offensive for some parts of the match, but the numbers game quickly brought him
down for the finish as Casino nailed him in the back of the leg with a shoulder
block. KKP showed some major agility as he was able to hit the K-Kutter as he
fell and pick up the win."
Fade into Jenny.
Jenny Jersey: "Next was a rematch in the making
since the first Aggression in which Johnny Maverick was defeated for the
Aggression title by The Confederate Copperhead. This rematch was different in a
couple of ways as it was going to be inside of a barbed wire steel cage and it
would be JT Whiplash defending the belt against the challenger Johnny Maverick,
of the Demi-Gods."
Highlights of the match flash on the screen before we return to Jenny Jersey.
Jenny Jersey: "Too bad for Johnny that he couldn't recapture the title, but
knowing that the ratings spiked through the roof, this match will take place
again. We move on to the Main Event of the evening with the Rebel Pro
Heavyweight Championship being defended in a barbed wire wrapped ladder triple
threat match. The combatents were Chad Kurtis, The Freak, and the defending
Rebel Heavyweight Champion, Marcus Marion."
Highlights of the match, the high risks, the dropkicks, the handcuffing all
flash up on the screen.
Jenny Jersey: "It was a brutal encounter. Let's pick up near the end, so I won't spoil the outcome in case you don't know. Well, that does it for the Rebel Pro
recap, a great show and a ton of great matches."
Marion kicks The Freak repeatedly before picking him up and whipping him across the ring. The Freak ducks a clothesline. Off of the opposite ropes. Marion catches him with a kneelift that sends him staggering backwards. Knife edge chop. Another! Another! Marion picks up the garbage can. BAM! The Freak falls to the ground but somehow quickly gets up. Marion grabs the Sinapore cane. BAM! BAM! BAM! The Freak falls to the ground, holding his bleeding forehead. Marion knocks the ladder into the corner. He picks The Freak up. CATAPULT INTO THE LADDER! He picks up Chad Kurtis. AND A CATAPULT FOR HIM TOO! He dumps both men over the top-rope. He sets up the ladder. And begins the climb!
Rung after rung!
He climbs towards the top, avoiding the barbed wire when he can.
He nears the top.
But Chad Kurtis and The Freak climb to opposite turnbuckles. Simultaneous DROPKICKS TO THE LADDER! It shakes and shakes… Marion falls THROUGH THE TABLE AT RINGSIDE!
MEGA POP!
The Freak and Kurtis exchange blows in the middle of the ring. Kurtis takes the advantage. Irish whip to The Freak. Kurtis moonsaults off of the slumped ladder, catching The Freak with a headscissors onto the ladder! The Freak grabs his back, clearly in a world of pain. He gets to his feet and stumbles right into a… STARMAKER ONTO THE LADDER! And he tosses The Freak to the outside. He sets up the ladder and begins to climb.
Rung after rung!
He climbs towards the top, letting the barbed wire pierce his skin.
He nears the top.
The Freak HUCKS THE BARBED WIRE BAT WHICH CATCHES THE SHOW AND SENDS HIM FLYING DOWN TO THE RING! The Freak pulls Kurtis out of the ring. He drags him towards Marion. He HANDCUFFS THEM TOGETHER!
ROB MARTINEZ: Well… this is clearly the end of the match now! The Freak has handcuffed his opponents!
COREY TAYLOR: Brilliant!
The Freak sets up the ladder and begins the climb.
Rung after rung!
He climbs towards the top, seemingly enjoying the barbed wire piercing his hands.
He nears the top.
Marion and Kurtis are forced to work together. They enter the ring. They try to push the ladder over… but The Freak hits both of them with a mean 450 SPLASH! He sets up the ladder again. And he climbs!
Rung after rung!
Towards the top!
He nears the top!
Kurtis gets to his feet, dragging Marion with him… he pushes the ladder! THE FREAK LANDS NECK FIRST ON THE GUARD RAIL!
Kurtis, dragging Marion behind him, sets up the ladder. He begins to climb!
ROB MARTINEZ: He is dragging the champion with him! He has no choice!
COREY TAYLOR: Marcus, baby… wake up!
Rung after rung!
Slowly, he drags Marion with him. Marion seems to spring to life. GERMAN SUPLEX OFF OF THE LADDER! And now Marion climbs the ladder, dragging Kurtis with him!
Rung after rung!
He drags Kurtis with him, nearing the top!
Kurtis comes to. He sidesteps onto the other side of the ladder and races with Marion towards the top. They reach the top. They use their free hands to exchange blows with one another! Kurtis with a headbutt! Marion with an eye gouge! Kurtis with a left hand! Marion with a right hand! Left! Right! Left! Right!
And here comes THE FREAK! SIGHT UNSEEN to the SIDE of the LADDER! ALL THREE MEN AND THE LADDER TOPPLE TO THE GROUND!
THIS IS AWE-SOME! THIS IS AWE-SOME! THIS IS AWE-SOME! THIS IS AWE-SOME!
ROB MARTINEZ: All three men are on the ground, unmoving!
COREY TAYLOR: The Freak seems to have taken less of the brunt from that fall than his competitors.
The Freak slowly climbs to his feet, trying to wipe the blood from his eyes. He pulls the barbed wire off of the ladder and wraps it around both of his fists, tying a knot around both wrists to keep it on. Marion and Kurtis slowly get to their feet and continue where they left off, exchanging blows with one another! Here comes The Freak! BARBED PUNCH TO KURTIS! He falls to the ground, pulling Marion down with him. Marion gets to his feet, pulling Kurtis with him. BARBED PUNCH TO MARION! Marion and Kurtis both fall! The Freak pulls both men up. Kurtis with a kick to The Freak’s gut. Kurtis and Marion with a DOUBLE SUPLEX ONTO THE LADDER!
ROB MARTINEZ: The two most unlikely allies since Hardcore Entertainment and the Great Alaskan Ninjas!
Marion grabs the Singapore cane. Kurtis grabs the barbed wire bat. The Freak slowly gets to his feet. SIMULTANEOUS CANE AND BAT SHOTS SEND HIM BACK DOWN! Marion hits Kurtis with the cane! He stumbles but gets back to his feet… only to slam the bat into Marion’s gut and then across his back! He grabs Marion’s head… CK FINALE WITH THE HANDCUFFS ON! IT WORKS! IT WORKS! Kurtis sets up the ladder. The Freak gets to his feet and attacks Kurtis. Kurtis bashes Marion’s head into The Freak’s! SUPERKICK SENDS THE FREAK OVER THE TOP-ROPE! Kurtis begins climbing!
Rung after rung!
He drags a lifeless Marion behind him!
He nears the top!
He reaches through the barbed wire, his fingers touching the belt. He tries to get a better grip to pull it down.
Marion YANKS CHAD KURTIS DOWN THE LADDER BUT HOLDS ON HIMSELF! Kurtis dangles from Marion’s wrist as Marion climbs!
Rung after rung!
He drags Kurtis behind him!
Kurtis finally gets his feet on the rung of the ladder. Forearm shots to Marion’s back. Marion with an elbow to Kurtis’ head! Another! Here comes THE FREAK! He’s on the top-rope! Missile dropkick to the ladder…
… but Marcus Marion leaps up and grabs the title! Kurtis dangles from his wrist as the ladder falls out from beneath both of them, LANDING ATOP THE FREAK! MARION FALLS WITH THE TITLE IN HAND, LANDING ATOP CHAD KURTIS!
ROB MARTINEZ: What in God’s name just happened?!?
JENNY JERSEY: Your winner… and STILL REBEL PRO WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION… “THE REVOLUTIONARY” MARCUS MARION!
Back to the studio.
Chamelion: A strong night for Rebel Pro. No titles changed hands but the blood flowed freely. I'll say this about Rebel Pro, they are truly extreme.
Chamelion: Barbed Wire Massacre aired last Friday and as of right now, they're next show is heating up to be another barn burner. So, did Rampage 'compare'? Let's take it to Joe Boxer to fill us in on what happened last night at Rampage.
Switch To Joe Boxer, sitting in his office.
BoXeR: "Sunday Night Rampage was
yet another success, as the show first started with two new talents going at it
in their debut matches. Jeff Savage would earn his first PWA victory by
defeating Jamie Brody. Then we had a stand down between Order of Chaos and
former Order of Chaos. Some real factions are forming here in the PWA.. with
this new breed of the Order of Chaos facing Masakaz the Great, who is being led
by my brother Matthew Engel who has an alliance with Corey Lazarus. Could this
be yet another faction war? And where does Riona Langly fit into all of this?
Hopefully no where, because she's tired."
BoXeR: "Deacon Frost defeated Matt Stone in a match up to determine the
number one contender for the TV title for next week's Rampage. Matt Stone loses
yet again, I hope can he turn it around and post a win before Out of Control and
try to build some momentum for the summer. Jacob Collins shocked the world once
more as he defeated the most legendary name in all of sports, The Phoenix. Rob
hasn't been on his game lately, but I'm sure that will turn around at Out of
Control as we know the biggest main event star of all time will turn on the jets
and grab yet another pay-per-view win."
BoXeR: "Then Lucious Starr defeated Cody Bogard. The rumors have been
spreading about Starr's chance to fight Laura Estella at Out of Control for the
Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship. That rumor will be destroyed or
confirmed on the next Rampage, I assure you that. Lucious then gets a royal
beatdown from Estella and Maverick, who seem to be on the same page and seem to
want to take on this new Order of Chaos. It seems that with the lack of Simon
Kalis, more people are becoming their enemy."
BoXeR: "Then, the beautiful and talented Meghan Nash Strader, with her
amazing sister Tamika Nash there for support, defeats former World, Television,
and Intercontinental Champion Marxx in a great singles match. Meghan's
undefeated streak since her return is still alive and she is showing the PWA
universe that her beautiful brutalty is a force to be reckoned with. And in our
next match, new TV Champion Blake Witcroft defends his crown and title against
The Punisher, Joshua Danielson. Jacob Collins interfered and cost Blake the
title and the match, and I decided to make it easier on Blake and give him a
shot at the GB Title at Out of Control. Now Collins will have to deal with the
Filth and Fury, and a dirty and tough Brit. That won't be fun for him, I tell ya
that. Our next match didn't actually happen, as Laura and Johnny took the
opportunity to showcase their new association's talent by beating up the newly
crowned Television Champion. This war between the Order of Chaos and this new
group is boiling up, people.
And how will Masakaz The Great, Matthew Engel, and even Corey Lazarus fall into
it? What will happen if Simon Kalis returns after his suspension? Where the hell
is Jethro Hayes' leadership on this anyway? A lot of questions have yet to be
answered as we head into Out of Control, an event that will help set the tone
for the rest of the hot action in the PWA summer."
BoXeR: "Our finale match was tag team action, Riona and Jethro taking on
Masakaz and Corey. My brother made his return at the end of the match, knocking
Hayes out with a steel chair and giving Laz and Masa an assisted victory. At the
end of the show, a man named Hype simply showed up telling us to believe in him.
Well, I hope the Hype was worth the money. Get ready for an action-packed night
next Sunday, as the main event will be Jethro Hayes taking on Johnny
Maverick."
Back to Chamelion in the studio.
Chamelion:
Rampage aired just a night ago, and already the hype for Out of Control is
building to a fever pitch. Some matches have been announced, others are on
the way. Next week we're going to do a full review of Out of Control,
discussing the ramifications of the matches, the stipulations in place and tell
you how to vote. Now, this week, we're changing our format a little bit...
some fan reviews suggest that our superstar spotlights should be on the two
competitors destined to meet next week on Crossroads. So, as we reveal our
spotlights, we'll learn of next week's main event. Let's take it back to
Jenny, with her pick for Rebel Pro's superstar of the week.
Jenny
sits in the same plush arm chair, crossing her legs and emphasizing certain
aspects of her body. She was a former stripper and knows how to flaunt what her
mama gave her.
Jenny Jersey: This week, the superstar highlight coming from Rebel Pro deals
with our Current World Heavyweight Champion, Marcus Marion."
A brief montage of Marcus in Rebel flows past the screen, showing him winning
match after match, and eventually the World Title. Scenes of the Triple Threat
Ladder match at Barbed Wire Massacre 2010 flash by as well until we are back at
Jenny's lap.
Jenny Jersey: "Marcus is one of the fastest rising stars in Rebel Pro
history, if not the fastest star. Starting back at Winter Blast of this year, he
was able to capture the Rebel Pro World title in less than two months. He
surpassed veterans, rookies, and others that could not quite be considered
veterans yet. He was able to upset the then current champion and Rebel Icon in
Chad Kurtis. Marcus is not one that relishes the hardcore environment of Rebel
Pro, choosing instead to use his remarkable wrestling skill to become
victorious. But do not take him lightly, just because he chooses not to go
hardcore, he can fight with the best of them on any given day. Marcus is a young
star with a great future ahead of him but that may come to an end if JT Whiplash
can ever get his hands on him."
Chamelion:
And so, Larry Gordon will send Marcus Marion over to Crossroads, but who does
Joe Boxer have in his arsenal that can stand up to the Rebel Pro’s World
Champion?
Cut to Joe
Boxer.
Joe BoXeR: "This week's Wrestler Spotlight is on Corey
Lazarus. He is a World Champion, Intercontinental Champion, Grizzly Beer
Champion, and Hardcore Champion. The Premiere Attraction is a legend in the
sport of wrestling, the PWA in particular, as he was inducted into the Hall of
Fame right after his rookie year in the PWA. He's had all the classic matches
and he has been known to spike the ratings and sales of any organization he
attaches himself to. Corey has found his home to be the PWA all along, and with
his recent return and alliance with the much-hated Matthew Engel, people might
start to question if Corey can really hang with the top talent in this company.
After back to back wins, he has shown us his game has not slowed down one bit
and has assured us his alliance with Engel is one forged out of respect from
their blood-ridden feud in 2008. Will Corey be able to rise back to the very top
of the PWA once again?"
Fade
in on an empty room.
Well, not Quite empty, I suppose. There are a few dropcloth covered shapes and
couple of open paint cans and a roller leaning in the corner. Into the room
walks Morty Goldberg smoking his cigar and carrying a stool. He sets the stool
down in the center of the room, sets himslf down on the stool and looks up.
"So, I see PWA and Rebel-Pro are at a Crossroads. And it seems that this
week I and Chad "something or other" are at the center of that
crossing. It is a vast responsibility that befalls me. To be the ONE who will
carry the show, the feature star that every viewer sitting watching their boob
tube is waiting for. I just wish that my opponent Chadwick could understand what
it is like to have the entire success or failure of this venture resting on his
. . . or her . . . shoulders."
He takes a long draw on his Cuban and after a moment relaxes.
"But no, Lady Chadderly is simply not experienced enough to understand the
immence pressure. I . . . I've been to the top. I've been all around the world
multiple times in my journy TO that top. And this week at Crossroads I am going
to take "The Show" and make him a part of a show in the center ring,
in MY ring." I'll be taking that "Great White Hope" and stomping
it into the matt. Because This week is My Week, this week is the week where . .
. The Treacherous 1 shall prove he is Number One. Better watch your back Kurtis."
We zoom into a closeup. Extreem Closeup.
"BOO!"
Snap to Black
...
The scene
fades in as we join ‘The Show’ Chad Kurtis and his trainer, Neil Melanson,
in his lockerroom shortly after Chad close lost in the triple threat barbed
wired ladder match for the Rebel world title…
Neil: I wish you would keep the damn ass on and just sit back and let your body
recover.
Chad: Bull-shit! Pain is just weakness leaving your body and anyway I can to
forget about this loss and get ready for ’Crossroads’.
Neil: ’Crossroads’, what the hell isn’t’ that the name of Bon Jovi’s
greatest hits album.
Chad: You are a funny, funny man but this is serious. It that new concept show
with PWA and Rebel.
Neil: That was sarcasm, Chad, I know exactly what ’Crossroads’ is and I know
exactly why it means so much to you.
Chad: Do tell then.
Neil: It means so much to you because you was the first Rebel fighter selected.
Chad: Duh, that was oblivious. That has to be more.
Neil: As disappointed as you are that you lost tonight in the triple threat
match you look as this match…
Chad: As what my chance to bounce back, to prove that my best days ain’t
behind me, is that what you was going to say?
Neil: Now, now you know I wasn’t going there. What I was going to say is this
match is just as big to you because it your chance to not only show Rebel that
you are still the big dog but to show PWA that Rebel is a force to be reckoned
with!
Chad: I can’t really argue with any of that. I was assuming that you would go
off about me trying to protect my legacy or some nonsense.
Neil: I wouldn’t go there either this may be my first week as part of your
training team but I can tell you don’t worry about your legacy.
Chad: You are right on target there. All I worry about is being the best there
is day and day out, the legacy issue will take care of itself.
Neil: Enough small talk sense you seem to be ready to focus on ‘Crossroads’
tell me what you know about your opponent, TH Love.
Chad: I know the TH stands for Treacherous Hippo.
Neil: Treacherous Hippo, really?
Chad: Apparently at sometime he was like a poor man’s version of Barney or
something.
Neil: The purple dinosaur?
Chad: That the one I am talking about.
Neil: Moving on.
Chad: He part of the Rampage roster and apparently he does some show on
Thursday’s called Harvey’s Magic Jungle.
Neil: On Spike TV?
Chad: I guess so.
Neil: So is that yet?
Chad: I also know that he is a cruiserweight more along the lines of Dean
Melenko meaning more brawling, submission, and technical stuff the the
traditional high flying cruiserweight.
Neil: Fair enough, so we are going to assume he is going to try and ground you
but we can play that game, too. Or better yet we can control the tempo. Anything
else?
Chad: Not really that’s about all I got after all I have been preparing for a
world title match.
Neil: Yeah but you don’t seem to be the kind of athlete who goes into battle
without knowing what he is up against.
Chad: You just signed on as my trainer how do you know what kind of athlete I am
or am not?
Neil: Do you really think Randy (Couture) would have let me sign on as your
trainer if he/we didn’t know what can of athlete, person, and wrestler you
are?
Chad: I hope not but maybe you are in it just for the money.
Neil: That’s bull-shit we both know that if you truly thought that I
wouldn’t be here right here, right now as your trainer.
Chad: Okay that’s true, so tell what kind of athlete, person, and wrestler do
you think I am?
Neil: All I am going to say is that we believe that you nickname ‘The
THENNOWNEXT’ as well as your latest catchphrase, ‘Respect my past, Fear my
future’ are both the truth.
Chad: That’s an ego boast but let’s not get side track with all this pillow
talk we are suppose to be focusing on TH Love.
Neil: Trust me I am focused on Love. I have been watching matches of his all
week.
Chad: That’s good because with my focus on ‘The Freak’ and Marion I have
only managed to scout a couple or five of TH Love’s matches.
Neil: A couple or five I knew you wasn’t going into this match unprepared and
that means bad things for our neighbor hippo.
Chad: Not that I want to get cocky but I must agree stepping into the ring
against a refocused and renewed Chad Kurtis is indeed very, very bad news for
one Mr. Treacherous Hippo Love AKA Monty Goldberg!
Matthew and Jonathen Kurtis walk into the locker-room and join in the
conversation…
Jonathen: Tough lost tonight, bro, you was close, really close.
Chad: No problem I get another shot. All I can say is it just wasn’t my night.
Matt: What? You are taking this lost better then usually.
Chad: Trust me the lost left a very bad taste but I don’t have time to dwell
on it.
Matt: What the big rush?
Chad: I going hippo haunting!
Jonathen: Hippo haunting? Ain’t hippos endangered?
Matt: Yeah that what we need to be concerned with.
Neil: Easy does it. You brother isn’t making a trip to Africa or nothing like
that, the hippo haunting he is talking about is at ‘Crossroads’.
Matt: Okay now we are all on the same page.
Jonathen: Or at least in the same library.
Chad: Now that we are all caught up on what is going on let’s get out of here
I got to get up earlier in the morning to get ready to take down a hippo.
Scene slowly fades to black as ‘The Bluegrass Maifa’ begins to exit the
locker-room as Jonathen is heard say 1, 2 ‘The Show’ coming for you…
Back in the studio.
Chamelion: Next up, we have a special sit down interview, conducted by our esteemed Lean Bean Miller, with the PWA's current World Champion, Laura Estella. Take a look.
Fade
into a scene of two large plush leather chairs and a black backdrop with the
AOWF Crossroads Logo. In the left
chair, sits our perennial interviewer of the PWA, Lean Bean Miller, and in the
opposite chair, the current PWA World Champion, Laura Estella.
Lean Bean nods his appreciation to Miss Estella.
LBM:
First off, congratulations on becoming PWA’s Undisputed World Heavyweight
Champion. How does it feel to know
you have accomplished so much, in so little time?
Laura:
“Thanks.
It’s kinda startling actually, to think that… what… three maybe four years
ago I figured there was a fair chance I was never going to wrestle again
anywhere this big again, never mind shoot right to the top. It’s a great
honour and I look forward to being able to better myself each and every time
out.”
LBM:
From
what we’ve seen so far, there’s little doubt you will.
Also, any questions on your win were doused with a concrete victory over
Simon Kalis, who had amassed quite a record of his own before meeting you at
RPM. Going from a six person contest
to a major main event is solid proof of your abilities. For
your future, are there any specific challengers you are eager to face?
Laura:
“Oh of course there’s a few. I was looking forward to facing the Phoenix but
it never really panned out like I’d hoped. So I think I’d like to see where
I stack up against some other PWA All-Stars like Chamelion or Sirus. I already
put the Sirus idea out there but Joe kinda dumped on it. Guess he still thinks
of me as some bratty little kid from school. I think maybe I’d also like a
chance to show him just how much I’ve changed.”
LBM:
I’d
say Sirus is out purely on his retirement, and from what I hear Chamelion is on
a very extended leave from the ring, though knowing him the way I do, a few
words in his direction could change that. However,
I too would like to see a Laura/Phoenix match.
Now onward; With your recent success, who do you most accredit to your
rise to the top of the PWA?
LAURA:
“I like to think it’s a lot to do with proper training. I started early in
the PHW with little to no in-ring experience and it showed when my career never
really amounted to anything. I decided then if I was coming back it was going to
be the right way, so I got involved with Self~Inflicted Drama and got a chance
to work with some of the best names in the business, like Lisa Seldon and Alexis
Syke Sykes. They helped build me back up into an actual wrestler, and so I guess
I owe a lot of my thanks to them. If it wasn’t for people like SiD, I’d
still be sitting in some Bermuda summer home reading magazines and wondering
just what could have been. Kinda scary when I think about it.”
LBM:
In
what is generally considered a male dominate sport, the PWA’s championships
are currently primarily held by women. Yourself,
Riona Langly and the Cowgirls from Hell. As
world champion, you’re especially looked upon as a role model for younger
girls. Do you feel any pressure with
this newfound ‘responsibility’ and how much does it mean to you to be in
such a position?
Laura: “No, I don’t really feel any pressure for it. I’m fully aware that at the end of the day I’m still just a person who gets paid to beat people up. If that makes me a role model to some people then so be it, but I’m not going to let the idea get to my head.”
She
pauses a moment, contemplating.
Laura:
“As for the whole girl power thing? Well, I’m not really that into it.
I’ve always aimed to be a great wrestler, not just a great female wrestler.
I’m aware there’s a certain stigma attached to us in that, no matter what we
do there will always be people who swear that there’s a man out there who
could do the job better. Still, I like to think that I’m at least going some
small way toward helping over turn that. If that’s what makes me a good role
model to young women then I’ll take that. I’d love to think that one day
there are going to be talented people coming up in this sport and trying to
follow in my footsteps, whether I deserve such an accolade or not.”
LBM:
Whether
you feel you deserve them, your actions have earned such accolades.
Now, with recent rumors, you are tentatively scheduled to face Lucious
Starr at Out of Control. This PPV puts the power of the match stipulations into
the hands of the fans. Are there any
specific match types you would like to see chosen?
Laura:
“I’d love to be put in any situation where I could annihilate the sniveling
little creep in the most definitive fashion. I’d love to pretend there was
more to it than that but really the only reason I threw this shot his way was
because I don’t like him. Essentially, I’m just hoping for anything where
he’ll walk away knowing he never really had a chance.”
LBM:
What
are your thoughts and feelings on the current PWA Product in general?
Laura:
“That’s a difficult to put into words really. I think how I see the PWA is
in a state of change. A lot of the old guard is starting to wind down while
people like Engel and Langly are asserting themselves. I think I could see
problems though in that the roster is starting to get a little thin, and really
we could be doing with more people stepping up. Thankfully
there’s a lot of young talent like myself or Johnny or Collins taking our
chance to shine while new talent keeps arriving everyday. So I guess I’m not
really worried. The faces of the PWA are changing but maybe it’s for the
best… certainly was for me anyway.”
LBM:
Over
the past two weeks the PWA has seen five new superstars receive try out
contracts. While the roster is much
thinner than during the Chaos vs Rampage era, I have faith it will pick up
again. So, with that in mind, where
do you see yourself in twelve months time?
Laura:
“I
like to think I’ll still be here, and if I’m not the champion, then I’ll
at least be respected as one. I received a lot of backlash for reaching the top
this quick and in some ways I still do, and you won’t go a week where someone
isn’t looking down there nose at me for being too cocky or making fun of
Langly for dropping her belt to a rookie. “I like to think though that I’m
improving every day, and anyone who isn’t on board with me now will come
around soon enough. Essentially, in twelve years time, I want to be one of the
people you think of when you think of the great stars of the PWA. Yeah it’s a
lofty goal, but I’m already off and running, so why not just go for it?”
LBM:
Exactly.
Your goals may seem lofty to some, but reaching them works well not only
for you, but the PWA as well, as it would mean seeing Genesis 20. (laughs).
Thank you for your time with us here tonight, Miss Estella.
Any final parting words for the PWA fans?
Laura:
“Thanks kids! Keep buying my shirts; be kind to your lesbian coaches, even
when they make fun of you for hanging around with Thunderwolf and sorry about
expecting you to waste your hard earned money on a pay per view main event with
Shadow Starr. I promise I’ll make it worth watching one way or another.”
LBM: And there you have it, AOWF, an insight to our current reigning PWA Champion, Laura Estella. Tune in next week as we have a sit down with Mr. Lucious Starr, Miss Estella’s potential opponent for Out of Control. Good Night.
Back in the Studio.
Chamelion: Hmm, sorry there, kiddo. I'm enjoying the semi-retired life at the moment. Besides, being a friend to Lisa Seldon puts me off a little.. something about your family irks me... likely that I got beat by Lisa two months in a row (*chuckles)... but then, being pinned by a lovely lady, while married, and it being all legal, has it's advantages. I wish you the best in your hopefully long term run as PWA's champion, Laura. So, now that we've caught up on what's happened in the AOWF, now let's find out what's to come, shall we?
Jenny
sits in the chair, still pretty and gorgeous.
Jenny Jersey: "Next week's card looks to be another good one with Rebel Pro
going to three matches on the show instead of the usual four due to most of the
shows running over."
She smiles, picking up the notecard.
Jenny Jersey: "In our first match of May 14's Aggression, we have the still
new Marina Blue taking on The Freak in the opening contest. Marina was not
booked for Barbed Wire Massacre, but Freak was, will his injuries prevent him
from being one hundred percent? Or will The Freak use his close brush with the
Rebel World title to give him the focus enough to fight through the pain? We'll
find out this week in their first encounter, inside the wrestling ring."
She flips the card, revealing the next match.
Jenny Jersey: "In the second match of the night, we have the sore Duncan
Aries taking on the fresh Jacob Venar in a contest to see who gets a shot at the
Aggression title, currently held by JT Whiplash. Jacob previously held the
Carolinas belt and Duncan the Tag Team gold here; both men want gold. But first
they must go through the other to get a shot at it and then face off against the
tough and veteran presence that is JT Whiplash. This promises to be a great
match and I for one look forward to it on the show."
Another card flip and we are to the main event card.
Jenny Jersey: "Now to the main event where we find the Aggression Champion
taking on the Rebel Pro Co-Tag Team Champion, in Chris Casino. Casino is known
for his technical ability while JT is known for his ground and pound ability.
Chris is a master of manipulation, but JT is a veteran of hardcore fighting.
Both men with strong points, both with weaknesses, who will come out on
top?"
She smiles.
Jenny Jersey: Either join us at the Aggression Arena or at home for the chance
to find out, until next time... enjoy the show."
She waves by to the fans watching.
Back in the Studio.
Chamelion: And without preamble, back to Joe Boxer with next week's Rampage preview!
By
now you know what you see, Joe in his office, with the date Rampage; May 16th, 2010 flickering on screen before a caption for the first
Rampage match appears.
Battle Royal - Winner Earns a TV Title Shot at Out of Control and is immediately
drafted to the Rampage Roster
Jer$ey vs. Jamie Brody vs. Xan Vaxman vs. Dwight Johnston vs. Jeff Savage vs.
Kyle Stevenson vs. Mike Spectacular vs. Pete Ebdon
BoXeR: "President Chamelion came to me with this idea to book all the new,
relatively new, talent together in a single battle royal to declare our TV title
contender for Out of Control and to move one lucky combatant straight to the
Rampage roster, bypassing the Probation rule. So, I did that.. and, well, it's
gonna be awesome and it's gonna be madness."
PWA TV Title Match
Joshua Danielson (C) vs. Deacon Frost
BoXeR: "Danielson came off a controversial title
win against Blake Witcroft, but that will have no bearing on his colossal -
literally - challenge this week as he faces the Apex Predator, Deacon Frost, who
is looking to regain his TV title and move his path of violence toward the World
Championship."
Lucious Starr & Blake Witcroft vs. Jacob Collins & Cody Bogard
BoXeR: "This is a stellar tag match that pits
experience and inexperience against the perennial loser and the rising star. Get
ready to see some great action in this match as we head into Out of
Control."
Matt Stone vs. Bruce "Midnight" Cable
BoXeR: "Matt Stone looks to finally get himself a
win, we hope, by facing Bruce "Midnight" Cable in singles action.
Bruce lost a tough one to Corey in his debut, but now he's looking to take on
former Wrestler of the Year and make a name for himself."
Riona Langly vs. Treacherous Hippo Love
BoXeR: "Riona is coming off a controversial tag
loss to Masakaz the Great and Corey Lazarus, but rest assured she's focused and
ready to go as she faces the tricky, deceiving THLove."
Masakaz The Great & Matthew Engel vs. Cowgirls from Hell
BoXeR: "This could be your match of the night, or
it could all go to hell. Despite the recent moments of damn-near kindness
between Engel and Strader, I assure you there's no love lost between these two
teams and it could end in one big cluster.. well, you know."
Jethro Hayes vs. Johnny Maverick
BoXeR: "Your main event of the evening is the Southern Hero taking on Johnny Maverick. Maverick seems to have friends in high places, but he's sick of all the expectations and the standards. Will Hayes play a Kalis-like role and try to bend Maverick back over to the good side or will Maverick really show Hayes what Filth and Fury is all about? This is going to be a great match folks and it will send Rampage off with a bang as we get closer to Out of Control!"
Back in the studio.
Chamelion:
Ok, people, this is Rumor control and here are the facts. For Rebel Pro, it
seems that contract negotiations between “The Show” Chad Kurtis and Rebel
Owner Larry Gordon are nearing an end. Now,
I don’t know if he’ll resign or become a free agent, but if the latter
happens, you can bet Joe and I will be giving Chad a call.
One thing’s for sure, this former champion should remain under the AOWF
banner.
Chamelion: By the way, if you have not yet done so, check out Rebel Pro's new website. I heard it was made blind friendly, whatever THAT means!?
Chamelion:
No new signers for Rebel that I was informed about, but the PWA in the past two
weeks have seen a huge influx of new competitors.
In fact, the current probation roster is teaming with eight bright up and
coming superstars… well, seven, as one of them is a former superstar making
his PWA Re-Re-Re-Return… in the Old but New PWA fan favorite, Kyle Stevenson.
Chamelion:
Other notable newbies include; Dwight Johnson, Xan Vaxman, Pete Eddon, and a very
very very very very familiar looking Mike Spectacular.
Uh, yeah, I’m gonna have to meet that guy mirror to mirror soon.
Chamelion:
And admittedly it’s a good thing we have such an influx as we have some
notable wrestlers currently not participating on our weekly shows.
Marxx is on leave due to personal issues, our World Champion is doing a
media appearance out of the country at this time, and of course Simon Kalis is
still suspended, but what the big news really is at this time, is that the
Phoenix, Rob Robinson, may have suffered an ankle injury during his match with
Jacob Collins this week, and may miss some ring time.
Chamelion: And with that, we’re about to go to our premier Rebel Pro vs PWA match, with “The Show” Chad Kurtis, in what MAY be his final AOWF appearance, taking on the PWA’s own THLove. And I’ll see you all next week at the Crossroads, goodnight.
We fade from Chamelion to a live PWA event somewhere in the US, with Brian Rentfro being joined by one of Rebel Pro's own announcers.
Brian
Rentfro: Here we go, with the first ever Crossroads match, pitting Rebel Pro’s
Chad Kurtis against PWA’s THLove, and with me here tonight from Rebel Pro is
Corey Taylor. Welcome, Corey.
Corey
Taylor: Thanks, Brian, good to be here. I
look forward to what Rebel brings to Crossroads, and how we’re going to kick
PWA’s ass each and every week.
Brian
Rentfro: Heh, so you say, but the PWA has a decade of excellence to bring to
Crossroads, with tonight’s pick being a veteran of the game, we’ll see how
it goes!
DING!
DING! DING!
Eric
Emerson: Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight’s Crossroads match is set for one fall,
with a twenty minute time limit. Introducing
first, from Rebel Pro…
Muhammad
Ali: "I am the greatest!"
The ADC-Tron lights up with the image of Muhammad Ali boxing, it fades into Chad
Kurtis nailing the Best Moonsault Ever on an opponent in Rebel Pro.
"I'm the illest fool
Cooler than the water in a swimmin' pool"
Images of Chad Kurtis at Brothers Pizza, sitting in a steel chair, and training
flash up on the screen through various stages of his career.
"Fly like a seagull, kickin' like a mule
More jams than a Beatle from Liverpool "
Chad Kurtis with a suicide plancha over the top rope to the outside, Chad with a
dive through the ropes onto a kneeling opponent.
"I deliver fool "
Chad
Kurtis with the Rebel Pro Carolinas Championship, the Rebel Pro World Title, the
Carolinas Title, the Rebel Pro World Title, along with all of the various other
titles that he has won over his career flash by hurriedly on the screen. The
final picture on the screen, for the moment, is the image of Chad Kurtis holding
up the Rebel Pro Tag Team Championships, the belt that made him the first triple
crown champion in Rebel Pro.
"Now who the f~bleep~k are you?
I'm "The Show" ChadKurtis from the old school"
Chad bursts through the curtain and the crowd explodes as blue and white lights
scan over the crowd, who are on their feets with cheers and yells. He rushes
down the entrance ramp at a sprint with his hands outstretched.
"They say I'm cocky, and I say What?
It aint braggin' motherf~bleep~r if ya back it up
They say I'm cocky, and I say What?
It aint braggin' motherf~bleep~r if ya back it up "
Chad hits the ring and springs to the apron and as he holds onto the top rope
with his left hand he plays to the crowd on his right with his right hand.
"I'm from the outskirts of Paducah, the big city
T- shirts, no Cadillacs, no big citties
Skinny models you can keep those "
He holds onto the top rope with his right hand and plays to the crowd with his
left, the cheers have yet to die down since he burst through the curtain.
"I compete in feds, cause I'm "The Show"
Dont you know? Talk fast, kick slow
Show up to black ties in t-shirts and slippers"
The words die down a bit.
Eric Emerson: Ladies and Gentlemen, from Paducah Kentucky, he stands at six feet
3 inches and weighs in at two hundred and thirty pounds...
"I'm known as the true P T per
I can f~bleep~k you up cause I'm the best in the world"
Chad climbs through the ropes and into the ring where he scales the turnbuckle
nearest the announce table and points down to the announcers before raising both
arms into the air, blue pyros shoot up into the air causing the crowd to have a
blueish tint for a moment. Chad immediately hops down to sprint to the opposite
corner where he again throws his hands up into the air, this time white pyros
shoot up into the air.
Eric Emerson: He is "The Show" Chaaaaaaaaadddd Kuuuuurrrrrrrrtis!
"They say I'm cocky, and I say What?
It aint braggin' motherf~bleep~r if ya back it up"
Chad turns to face the entrance ramp as his music fades.
"They say I'm cocky, and I say What?
It aint braggin' motherf~bleep~r if ya back it up "
Grinning,
Chad listens as Eric continues.
Eric
Emerson: And his opponent, from PWA…from Poughkeepsie, New York and weighing
in at 205lbs, he is The Treacherous Love HIPPO!
Jungle
drums sound around the arena. On stage a fog rises around the entrance as we
view a murky river on the big screen. As a Hippo head breaks the surface we hear
"Bim Bomb" fade in over the native rhythms. The beast opens his jaws
wide and bellows just as T. H. Love steps through the roiling fog. He pauses to
glare at the crowd for a moment before continuing on to the ring. Rolling under
the bottom rope The Treacherous One kips to his feet and waits for the opening
bells.
DING!
As
the bell rings, the two competitors nod to each other and circle. The Show steps
forward and the two lock up, with THLove twisting The Show’s arm behind his
back and then slipping his leg in front to trip The Show face first to the
canvas. THLove drops quickly on top to apply a headlock, leaning his body over
The Show to apply extra pressure.
Brian Rentfro: THLove gets the early advantage.
Corey Taylor: He does, but don’t
count out Chad Kurtis, this man has done amazing things in Rebel Pro!
With a brief struggle, The Show shoves THLove off and rolls to his feet, backing
up and feeling his head. THLove stares back and both circle each other again.
Another lock up and this time THLove throws The Show to the ropes, The Show
bounces off, ducks THLove and on the return, THLove goes for a clothesline, but
The Show dives below the arm, turns and kicks THLove in the back of the knee.
THLove stumbles, and The Show turns him around and throws him to the ropes, and
as THLove bounces off, The Show catches him in a Tilt-a-whirl back breaker, and
THLove finds himself rolling painfully on the canvas.
Brian Rentfro: I see what you meant, Corey. Excellent execution.
Corey Taylor: The Show put a lot of pressure into that move, and now he’s
aiming at THLove’s sore spot!
The Show wastes no time and comes in with some sharp kicks to THLove’s back
and kidneys. THLove defends himself by grabbing The Show’s attacking leg, but
The Show shakes him loose and brings his fist down against THLove’s shoulder
and forces him back. THLove gets to his knees and The Show immediately grabs him
by the hair, pulls him up and rams his forhead into the corner turnbuckle. The
Show then grabs THLove by the hair and runs him into the next turnbuckle, using
the run for momentum. Three body shots and then The Show whips him down and
over, and then applies a back arm bar, wrenching it over his head. THLove
struggles, gets up and tries to lift The Show up and over but The Show hits a
knee and backs THLove up a bit. A second knee drives THLove into the ropes and
The Show uses that to whip THLove across the ring.
Brian Rentfro: The Show has a tremendous momentum going here.
Corey Taylor: It appears Chad really wants to make a good first impression for
Crossroads.
As THLove comes off, and The Show runs in, THLove gets his arm up and hits a
forearm over The Show’s forehead, knocking him hard to the canvas. As The Show
tries to stand, a second forearm shot takes him back to the mat. The Show rolls
over shaking his head as THLove now stalks him from behind. THLove goes off the
ropes and The Show ducks, but THLove leap frogs him and turns and comes in. The
Show is confused for a moment and THLove jumps and hits a hurricarnna, sending
The Show bouncing along the canvas. THLove rushes over and tries to cover.

Kickout.
Brian Rentfro: Close! The Show lost his advantage and now THLove needs to
execute some hard moves, if he’s going to keep The Show from re-attacking his
injured ribs and kidneys.
Corey Taylor: THLove realizes now that The Show has a plan, and he has to avoid
that!
The Show pulls himself up by the ropes, facing to the center of the ring as
THLove stands and comes in for the attack. However, a knee lift from The Show
halts THLove’s approach and The Show throws him into the corner. An uppercut,
followed by a whip to the other corner, causes THLove to hit the corner with his
back. The Show comes in, but THLove hits him and dizzies The Show who is forced
to back up. THLove then hops the corner, going high and aiming for The Show.
Brian Rentfro: High Risk Move!
Corey Taylor: May be too early to try this!
The Show runs in as THLove jumps but The Show ducks it and THLove lands on his
feet in the middle of the ring. The Show turns and runs out, but THLove twists
and answers with a drop kick, crashing The Show down.
Brian Rentfro: It didn’t work as he planned, but THLove thought on his feet.
Corey Taylor: As well as off his feet!
THLove the drags The Show to the corner and goes to scale the turnbuckle to the
top rope. Allinging himself, THLove soars with an attempted splash, but The Show
gets his knees up and THLove impacts solidly on them, falling away holding his
gut in pain. The Show rolls the other way, also hurt from the impact. The Show
gets up first, using the ropes and limping as he moves over and begins stomping
on THLove in his injured stomach. The Show watches as THLove moves around the
ring and follows with kicks and punches. The Show comes in again, but THLove
manages to swipe at him with a weak punch, which is Just enough to let THLove
jump up and come in for an attack of his own. However, The Show swiftly kicks
him in the gut, still aching from moments ago, and then sweeps THLove up hits a
perfect back suplex on THLove. The Show then rolls him over for the cover.

2
Shoulder Up.
Brian Rentfro: A lot of effort to get out of that pin!
Corey Taylor: THLove is making The Show waste his energy.
The Show has a focus that borders on cockiness as he kicks at THLove a few times
to injure him more. Dragging THLove up, The Show hooks him into a front face
lock and lifts him vertically into the air, before dropping THLove over the top
rope, hanging him to dry. The Show then takes a few steps back and hits a huge
drop kick to the side of THLove’s face, dropping him down onto the canvas. The
Show with another cover.
1
2
Shoulder up.
Brian Rentfro: Close!
Corey Taylor: The Show resumes control! He needs to attack those ribs more!
Dragging THLove up, The Show quickly wraps him into an abdominable stretch,
wrenching his body and stretching the already injured gut and ribs from the
earlier splash. In the stretch, The Show uses his free arm to punch the wounded
ribs, while THLove, all the while moans but refuses to tap out.
Brian Rentfro: He may have heard you there!
Corey Taylor: Excellent weardown tactic!
THLove finally manages to turn to break out so The Show lifts him up for a slam
but the momentum is too much and THLove shifts and lands on top of The Show,
covering him.
1
2
Shoulder up!
Brian Rentfro: NICE reversal!
Corey Taylor: The Show can’t afford to make those kind of mistakes!
The Show whips out from the cover and jumps to his feet and kicks THLove in the
gut again, putting more pain on the injured ribs. The Show then whips THLove
into the corner, chest first and when THLove bounces back, The Show drives his
elbow and forearm back into THLove’s ribs yet again. Two shots to the kidneys
follow and The Show senses victory. Lifting THLove up, The Show shoots him over
for a back body drop, but behind him THLove lands on his feet. The Show turns
fast and runs in, only to find himself crashing to the canvas from a perfectly
executed belly to belly suplex.
Brian Rentfro: He’s rushing too much, not keeping himself in control.
Corey Taylor: I don’t get it, I mean, every match is valuable, but after all,
this is Crossroads, a meeting of the brands.. nothing is really at stake.
The Show should slow down!
Still,
as a deperation move, it doesn’t allow THLove to follow the advantage and The
Show jumps up quicker and again, more rib attacks. The Show knows he has to stay
forcused on the injury to bring THLove down for a possible win. The Show pulls
THLove up by the head, but THLove breaks free and punches The Show in the cheek.
The Show backs to the ropes, holding his mouth and THLove waits for The Show to
come back in and hits a kick to his mid section. THLove
then follows up with some solid punches, finally finding his momentum, and then
a chop, a forearm and a chop. A whip to the ropes and as THLove returns, The
Show drops and back body drops THLove. Again, however, THLove lands on his feet
and spins around, bringing his foot into the air and hitting a heel kick to the
side of The Show’s temple. THLove quickly covers.
1
2
Shoulder up!
Brian Rentfro: Man, check out THLove, he has the reflexes of a cat!
Corey Taylor: It’s throwing The Show off his simple game plan, to injure
THLove and keep him down.
Aching, THLove sighs and follows The Show to the corner, where the smaller man
is grabbing the ropes for leverage. THLove executes his own kick to The Show’s
kidneys and then a sharp forearm chop that puts The Show vertical against the
corner. The ref orders THLove to get The Show out of the corner, and THLove
obliges with a fast whip across the ring to the other corner and then comes in
with a hard splash! Confident, THLove again whips The Show across the ring to
the previous turnbuckle, comes in for a splash but The Show manages to move out
of the way and THLove hits the empty padded corner. THLove comes out and ducks
The Show huge clothesline and answers with an enziguri! The Show is down and
THLove crawls over for the cover.
1
2
The Show grabs the ropes.
Brian Rentfro: The Show with the presence of mind to find the ropes.
Corey Taylor: That’s a veteran move, right there!
THLove picks up The Show, hits two knife edge chops and backs The Show to the
ropes. THLove goes to whip The Show, but The Show reverses it by twisting
THLove’s arm and brings him in fast, lifting THLove up into a fireman’s
carry, but THLove gets his feet up around the shoulders of The Show, sitting on
his shoulders and falls forward to roll The Show up into a small package.
However, The Show blocks the last part of the move, sitting on top of THLove and
grabs the ropes as the ref drops to count the shoulders down.
1
2
3!
DING! DING! DING!
Brian Rentfro: He got em! The Show
Chad Kurtis picks up the victory.
Corey
Taylor: A great first match for Crossroads, and hey, Rebel Pro is proving
themselves in the shadow of a global phenomena like the PWA!
Not
sure how The Show did it, THLove rolls from the ring shaking his head. The Show
grins as his hand is raised, as Crossroads fades to black.
